Maximum-Football 2.0 Installation Guide for Microsoft Vista Users.

The Maximum-Football 2.0 game manual provides installation instructions for Microsoft Windows XPSP2. The Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System includes additional steps to ensure correct installation.

Maximum-Football 2.0 has been tested with the shipping versions of Vista Home, Premium, and Business. Pre release versions of Vista are not supported.

1. Ensure your installation of Windows Vista has the most recent service packs and updates.

2. Ensure that the computer you wish to install the game on has an internet connection available. Part of the installation process is the update of Microsoft DirectX. The installation routines for DirectX require an internet connection.

3. The UAC must be turned on to install Maximum-Football. Many users turn this feature off to prevent the popups and verification questions the UAC asks while performing tasks. However without the UAC turned on, the game will not install or run properly.

4. To install Maximum-Football 2.0 on Vista you need to be logged into the computer with an account that allows software installation permissions. For the typical user, this is the System Admin account. To verify you are the system administrator, open the Control Panel -> User Accounts. You should see Administrator under your name. If you are not the administrator, you need to re-log in as the system admin.

5. Insert the Maximum-Football CD Rom into your computer or run the Maximum-Football downloaded setup application.

6. Windows Vista will ask you if you wish to continue. Click "Allow"

7. Follow the installation wizard steps, providing your serial number when prompted.

8. The last step of the wizard will prompt you to install "Matrix Games Components" and "Install/Update DirectX 9". BOTH of these steps must be completed. The game will not function if these steps are skipped (unchecked).

9. The setup program will install the Matrix Games Components silently. There is a smaller wizard provided when Microsoft starts the process of updating DirectX. If the DirectX update process fails or is cancelled, the game may not run properly. You will need to reinstall the game if this happens.

Once the DirectX update is completed you should see the Maximum-Football icon on your desktop. Double-Clicking the icon should start the game's desktop menu. Clicking Play should take you into the game play. Note, the game may take a few seconds longer to start up on Windows Vista than on Windows XP.

Maximum-Football 2.0 has been tested on Vista with a number of different hardware configurations. The Vista Operating System itself requires considerably more system resources than WindowsXP. Depending on the system, this additional use of system resources can impact game play.

This guide should work for the majority of users. However due to the addition of the User Account Control (UAC) security features in Vista, it's possible that you may need to adjust your account privileges to install the game.
